Croatian specialty

Cut the stalk out of the cabbage leaves, then roughly chop the leaves into 5-6 pieces. Place the leaves in boiling water, add 1 teaspoon of salt and boil the leaves for 40 minutes. Add the peeled potatoes whole to the pot and boil for another 25 minutes. The potatoes should then be nice and soft. Drain the contents of the pot using a large sieve. Chop the garlic cloves and add them to the pot with 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Sauté the garlic over low heat and then add the potatoes and vegetables. Mash the potatoes with a wooden spoon and mix well with the cabbage until it forms a homogeneous mixture. Add at least 2 tablespoons of olive oil and salt. This is a great side dish for fish and meat.
