Ingredients for 3 servings:
- 6 rolls (hamburger buns)
- 1,000 g minced beef
- 6 slices of processed cheese (Chester)
- ketchup
- Mustard
- Sweet and sour gherkins, sliced
- possibly onion(s)
- salt and pepper
- possibly chili sauce
Instructions
Working time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour
Knead the ground meat until it forms a pliable mass. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Form the meat mixture into large, round, and flat discs (be careful, the meat will lose diameter in the pan but gain height) and fry them on both sides until dark, but not black. Cut the hamburger buns in half, place the meat on top, add mustard and ketchup to taste, and add sliced cucumbers (and small diced onions, if desired). Finally, add a slice of cheese (if you like, you can pour a little chili sauce on it) and cover the burger with the top half of the bun. Now microwave the burger for 45 seconds at around 700 watts so that the sauce, cucumbers, and bun are pleasantly warm, the cheese melts, and the burger reaches its much-loved, mushy texture. If you’re expecting several guests and don’t want to keep anyone waiting long, you can also cook the meat in advance and store it in the refrigerator. It will reheat in the microwave anyway.
