Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 4 burger buns
- 2 tbsp white onion(s), grated
- 1 avocado(s)
- 4 tbsp mayonnaise (if you like, you can also use light)
- 2 tomatoes, peeled and finely diced
- 2 tsp lemon juice
- 1 clove(s) garlic, squeezed or finely chopped
- 2 tbsp parsley, finely chopped
- n. B. Sea salt, coarse
- 600 g minced beef (20% fat)
- 1 ½ tsp sea salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp chili sauce (Sriracha or similar)
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 18 minutes; Total time approx. 38 minutes
Combine the ground beef, chili sauce, salt, and pepper in a bowl and form four equal burger patties, each about 2 cm thick. Use your thumb to make a 2.5 cm indentation in the center to ensure the burgers cook evenly and don’t bulge. Grill the burgers over direct, high heat with the lid closed for 8-10 minutes until medium-rare (1.5-2 minutes longer per side for well-done). Add the buns to the grill for the last few minutes and let them warm up briefly. While the burgers are cooking on the grill, prepare the mayonnaise (it can also be prepared up to 6 hours in advance; in this case, cover the mayonnaise with plastic wrap). Place the grated onion in a sieve, rinse briefly with cold water, and drain well; this will make it milder and less spicy. Place the avocado and mayonnaise in a bowl, mash with a fork, and mix well. Stir in the onion, tomatoes, parsley, lemon juice, and garlic. Season generously with salt. Place the burgers on the buns and top with the avocado mayonnaise. Tip: If you like, you can add a slice of cheese to the burger.
