Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 500 g sauerkraut (wine sauerkraut)
  • 100 g bacon
  • 1 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 1 tbsp caraway seeds (whole)
  • some oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

Peel the onion and dice it into small cubes. Dice the bacon as well. Heat the oil in a pan. Fry the bacon in the pan until it is nicely browned. Add the onion and sauté briefly. Place the sauerkraut in a pressure cooker (or regular pot). Fill the bag or can of sauerkraut halfway with water. Add the water to the sauerkraut. Add the bacon, onion, and caraway seeds to the sauerkraut. Place the pressure cooker on the stovetop and cook over medium heat for about 1 hour (times vary depending on the stovetop).
