Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 200 g jasmine rice (Thai rice, fragrant rice)
Instructions
Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes
as a side dish to all Thai dishes
Rinse the rice in a sieve 3-4 times with fresh water until the water runs clear. Then add 1 1/2 times the amount of water, bring to a boil over high heat, reduce heat to very low, and simmer for 10 minutes. Then turn off the heat and let the rice stand, covered, for about 30 minutes. The rice is not salted, as it serves not only as a side dish but also to neutralize the often very spicy spices.
