Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 300 g rice (sticky rice), Japanese
  • 360 ml water
  • 4 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 ½ tsp sugar
  • 1 ½ tsp salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Rest time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Bring the water and rice to a boil in a covered pot. Reduce heat and continue cooking for 15 minutes. Remove the pot from the heat, place two layers of paper towels between the pot and the lid, and let the rice stand for another 10-15 minutes. Meanwhile, combine the vinegar, sugar, and salt and heat gently until the sugar dissolves. Carefully stir the vinegar mixture into the rice. Cover with a damp cloth until ready to use.
