Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1 onion(s), diced
- 1 garlic clove(s), chopped
- 1 tbsp ginger, chopped
- some oil
- 3 cup(s) Lentils, red
- some yogurt
- some coriander leaves
- some onion(s) (onion rings)
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 tsp, heaped turmeric
- 1 ½ tsp curry powder
- ½ tsp spice mix (Garam Masala)
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Heat some oil in a pan and sauté the onions, garlic, and ginger. Then add all the spices except the salt and toast, stirring well so the mixture doesn’t stick. Now add the lentils. I use coffee cups, not pots. Mix everything together, pour in about 250 ml of water, and simmer for about 15 minutes, until the lentils are soft but not mushy. Add a little more water if needed. Season with salt at the end. I then arrange the lentils on the plates with a dollop of yogurt, freshly chopped coriander, and a few onion rings.
