Instructions

Working time approx. 50 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Pour flour and baking powder onto a smooth, clean surface and make a well in the dough. Add the remaining dough ingredients and knead with your hands until smooth. Shape the dough into a ball, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for about half an hour. In the meantime, peel and core the apples and cut them into pieces about half a centimeter thick. In a large bowl, mix the apple pieces with the raisins, sugar, and cinnamon. Once chilled, divide the dough in half. Roll out one half on a floured surface. Line the bottom of a springform pan with parchment paper. Lightly press the pan onto the rolled-out dough to mark the required size for the pie crust. Then, using a knife, cut out the circle according to the mark. Line the bottom of the springform pan with the dough and press it down lightly. Take some of the remaining dough and, together with the remaining dough from the rolling out, form it into a long sausage. Place this half on the inside edge of the springform pan and line it as well. Sprinkle the cake base with breadcrumbs and then pour in the apple mixture. Preheat the oven to 170°C (fan oven). Roll out the remaining dough into another sheet. Cover the apples with this sheet. Spread the butter flakes, sliced almonds, and vanilla sugar on top. Bake the cake for about 1 hour.
