Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 chicken breast fillets (500 g)
  • 150 g yogurt (3.5% fat)
  • 1 piece(s) ginger (walnut-sized)
  • 3 cloves garlic (to taste)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch of clove(s), ground
  • 1 pinch of cardamom, ground
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 100 g ground almonds
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • Water or white wine
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • Ginger, ground
  • Pepper, white
  • Sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes

Mix the yogurt with finely chopped or grated ginger, crushed garlic, spices, and almonds to form a thick paste. Butter a baking dish and place the chicken breast fillets side by side. Cover with the paste. Heat the butter and honey together and drizzle over the fillets. Cover and let the fillets marinate for 1 hour. Then bake in a preheated oven at 225°C for about 15-20 minutes, until the crust is browned. Remove the chicken breast fillets and keep warm. Deglaze the pan with water or white wine and stir in the sour cream. Season the sauce to taste with (a little) salt, pepper, a dash of sugar, and ginger. Serve with rice and the chicken fillets.
