Peas in mashed potatoes

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 250 g potatoes
  • 150 g peas, frozen
  • 15 g butter
  • 75 g milk, 1.5% fat
  • 50 g cream
  • salt and pepper
  • nutmeg
  • e.g. parsley, to sprinkle over

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Peel the potatoes, cut into cubes, and cook in a pot of salted water, covered, for 15-20 minutes. After 10 minutes of cooking, warm the peas in a pot with butter, milk, and cream, stirring occasionally. Drain the potatoes, return them to the pot, and mash them with a potato masher. Pour some of the liquid over the potatoes and mix in with a spatula. Stir in the peas and the remaining liquid. Season the mashed potatoes with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. If the mash is too thin, return the pot to the warm stovetop for a short time. If the mash is too thick, stir in a little more milk or cream. When serving, sprinkle the peas in the mashed potatoes with finely chopped parsley.
