Fun food as an overture to the Christmas menu

Halve 4 shish kebab skewers. Cut stars out of the cheese using a star-shaped cutter. Cut the remaining cheese pieces and the half tomato or bell pepper into tiny cubes. In a shaker, make a dressing from yogurt, oil, vinegar, salt, and pepper. Wash the lettuce and stack about 6 leaves on top of each other, from largest to smallest. Secure the tower with the thick end of the shish kebab skewer. Add more small leaves and string them along the skewer to create a tall, airy tree. Cut the tree into shape with scissors. Thread a star onto the skewer. Drizzle the dressing over the tree to create “snow.” Sprinkle the diced tomatoes, bell peppers, and cheese on top to decorate the tree. Place a mini mozzarella next to a tree to form a snowball. The trees will stay fresh for about 20 minutes. If necessary, you can stabilize a tipping tree with another toothpick.
