Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 200 g wholemeal flour
- 100 g butter, not too cold
- 50 ml water
- 1 pinch(s) of salt, a small pinch

enough for a fruit cake of about 30 cm diameter
Rub the flour and butter together in a bowl with the heel of your hand. Add the water and salt and knead as quickly as possible. Stop as soon as the dough holds together; any further kneading will make it tough! Now, without letting it rest, top the dough as desired and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 40-45 minutes. This recipe is perfect as a base for sweet cakes or pierogi.
