Soy milk

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 100 g soybeans
  • 4 dates, dried
  • 2 pinches of salt
  • 1.7 liters of water

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

Basic recipe for a soy milk maker

Rinse the soybeans and soak them in cold water for approximately 24 hours (up to 36 hours). Change the water 2-3 times. Hull the soybeans or use pre-hulled soybeans, as hulling is quite time-consuming. However, it’s worth the effort; if you hull the soybeans, the soy milk won’t taste as “beany.” Place the hulled soybeans and the dates in the maker’s sieve. The dates will give the soy milk a slight sweetness and a rounded flavor. Add the water and salt to the water tank and start the soy milk maker. While the soy milk is still hot, strain it through a fine cotton cloth (gauze), pour it into brown milk bottles, seal them, and turn them upside down. Once cooled, the milk will keep in the refrigerator for several days.
