Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 1 cup lentils, red
- 2 m.-sized onion(s)
- 1 large apple
- 2 tbsp basil
- 75 g butter (sour cream butter)
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tbsp mustard
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest period approx. 1 day; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 1 day 45 minutes
Cook the lentils in lightly salted water for about 15 minutes until soft. Dice the onions and apple. Add the dried basil and sauté everything in the sour cream and butter in a saucepan until translucent. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Combine the cooked lentils, apple and onion mixture, tomato paste, and mustard and puree. Season again with salt and spices, if desired. Leave to marinate in the refrigerator overnight. Note: This recipe makes about 500g of spread. The spread will keep in the refrigerator for about a week and is freezable. The kcal information is an estimate and assumes a serving of about 20g. Tip: In addition to basil, thyme, oregano, and paprika powder also go well with it.
