Waffles with whole wheat flour and oat flakes

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 185 g flour (wholemeal flour)
  • 70 g oat flakes, wholegrain
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 355 ml buttermilk
  • 55 g butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp oil, neutral
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting
  • Sauce, fruit sauce for serving

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

for a healthy breakfast

Put the flour in a bowl, grind the oats very finely in a mixer and add to the flour. Add the baking powder and salt and mix everything together. Briefly beat the eggs, then add the buttermilk, cooled, melted butter, oil and sugar and mix. Now add the flour mixture and stir briefly; everything should be well combined. Then heat up a waffle iron; depending on the manufacturer, you may need a little more butter for cooking. Now pour the batter into the waffle iron in portions and cook until golden brown. Serve the waffles immediately; they taste best fresh, still warm. You should also serve them with a fruit sauce; blueberry sauce is particularly good with them. I also dust the waffles with powdered sugar. My large waffle iron yielded 8 batters.
