Fried beef tomatoes in slices à la Didi

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 large beefsteak tomato(s)
  • 1 large onion(s)
  • e.g. salt and pepper
  • Herbs of Provence
  • Fat for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

With herbs and onions

Wash the beefsteak tomato, remove the stem, and slice it. Peel and slice the onion. Heat a little cooking fat in a non-stick pan. Add the tomato slices and season with salt, pepper, and Provençal herbs. Place the onion slices on top of the tomatoes and cook, covered, over low heat until the onion slices are translucent and soft. Carefully remove the tomato slices and onions from the pan and serve. This recipe serves one as a starter and two as a side dish.
