Oat groats with hazelnuts and dried fruits

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 2 cups oatmeal
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups water
  • e.g. hazelnuts, shelled
  • n. B. Fruits (forest fruits), fresh or dried
  • some honey as needed

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Combine milk, water, and oatmeal in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Let it swell over medium heat for 20 minutes, stirring frequently. Roughly chop the hazelnuts, add them to a pan, toast them, and let them cool briefly. Add the toasted hazelnuts and the fruit to the warm porridge. Sweeten with honey, if desired. Use a 200-250 ml cup as a serving measure.
