Squid rings in beer batter

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 lemon(s), the juice, 800 g cooked squid rings
  • some Worcestershire sauce
  • salt and pepper
  • 200 g flour
  • 2 eggs, separated
  • ¼ liter of beer, any kind
  • 1 cup(s) Parmesan cheese, grated
  • frying fat

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

for the deep fryer

Wash the squid rings and pat dry. Marinate with lemon juice and Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt and pepper and let stand in the refrigerator for 15 minutes. For the batter, stir together the flour, Parmesan cheese, egg yolk, and beer. Fold in the stiffly beaten egg whites. Heat the oil. Dip the rings in the batter and bake until golden brown. Recommended: Serve with cocktail sauce, tartar sauce, or garlic sauce.
