Yellow rice with raisins

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 ½ tbsp vegan butter
  • 125 g basmati rice
  • ½ cinnamon stick(s)
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • 250 ml water
  • 40 g raisins
  • pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Heat the vegan butter in a saucepan. Briefly sauté the rice. Add the cinnamon stick, salt, turmeric, and water and mix well. Cover and bring the water to a boil. Then turn off the heat, leave the pan on the stove, and let the rice steep for about 20 minutes. Stir in the raisins and replace the lid. Let the rice steep for a few more minutes. Season the rice with salt and pepper to taste. Tip: 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric per day has a positive effect on your health.
