Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 400 g pork fillet(s) or other tender meat
- 150 g cheese (sheep or goat cheese)
- 150 g smoked ham
- 200 ml cream
- 50 ml milk
- 200 g processed cheese (herb processed cheese)
- salt and pepper
- Paprika powder, sweet
- Herbs, as desired
- possibly sauce (teriyaki sauce)
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes
The meat is cut into thumb-thick slices and seared. Then it’s placed on two ham slices arranged crosswise and topped with a piece of goat cheese. The ends of the ham slices are folded over the cheese and secured with toothpicks. Then place the whole thing in a baking dish. Heat the cream and milk and dissolve the melted cheese in it. Stir the herbs (I used chives and oregano, mainly for the look) and spices into the sauce and pour over the ham parcels. Bake the whole thing in the oven at 150°C for half an hour. Serve with boiled potatoes and buttered vegetables. A quick tip: It doesn’t look like much, but appearances can be deceiving. Two ham rolls per person were enough to feed everyone. A dash of teriyaki sauce works well in the sauce, but don’t overdo it.
