Quick vegetarian cream sauce

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • some butter or oil
  • 1 medium-sized onion(s) or double the amount of shallots, finely chopped
  • 200 g cream
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • ½ tsp vegetable stock powder
  • ½ tsp umami seasoning
  • ¼ tsp paprika powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 3 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 13 minutes

vegetarian, spicy, umami

Heat the butter or oil in a pan. Add the finely chopped onion and fry until well browned. Deglaze with the cream, stir in the spices and tomato paste. Simmer for a few minutes, stirring continuously, until a thickened, smooth sauce forms. Delicious with dumplings and/or meat substitutes.
