Potato gratin with kohlrabi

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 600 g kohlrabi
  • 600 g potatoes
  • 30 g butter
  • 30 g flour
  • ¼ liter of milk
  • 3 tbsp cream
  • 150 g cheese
  • salt and pepper
  • nutmeg
  • vegetable broth

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

Peel the potatoes and kohlrabi, slice them thinly, and layer them alternately in a baking dish. Season each layer with salt and pepper. Melt the butter, add the flour, and sauté. Add the milk and bring to a boil. Then add the cream, season with salt, vegetable stock, and nutmeg, and pour the sauce over the layered vegetables. Bake at 175°C for about 30 minutes. Sprinkle with grated cheese and bake for another 20 minutes.
