Tomato sauce for couscous, rice or pasta

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 large onion(s)
  • 1 bell pepper(s)
  • 1 carrot(s)
  • 1 can of chopped tomatoes, approx. 400 g each
  • e.g. paprika powder
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tbsp stock powder
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • possibly chili powder
  • ½ cup of crème fraîche, approx. 200 g each
  • e.g. couscous, rice or pasta
  • n. B. cheese, grated

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Peel and dice the onion, then fry it in a little oil until translucent. Dice the bell pepper and carrot and fry them. Add the can of tomatoes and season with paprika, pepper, stock powder, sugar, and salt. Bring everything to a boil, adding chili if you like it spicy. Stir in the crème fraîche and bring back to a boil. Important: Set the sauce aside and let it cool. Now cook rice, couscous, or pasta, for example. Gently reheat the sauce. Mix everything together and top with a little cheese.
