Paprika schnitzel with strong paprika sauce

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 thin schnitzels (pork, veal or turkey)
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 tbsp paprika powder
  • 3 large red bell peppers, finely sliced
  • 1 large onion(s), finely chopped
  • 2 large garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 4 sprigs of fresh thyme, leaves picked
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 300 g tomatoes, pureed
  • 1 tsp sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Season the schnitzels with salt, pepper, and paprika. Fry in a pan with 1 tablespoon of butter for 5 minutes on each side, remove from the pan, and keep warm. Sauté the bell peppers, onions, and garlic in the pan with 1 tablespoon of butter, stirring constantly. Add the tomatoes and let everything simmer slightly. Season the sauce generously with salt, pepper, sugar, and thyme. Add the schnitzels and let stand briefly.
