Millet with a twist

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 200 g millet
  • 1 egg(s), size L
  • 1 large potato(s)
  • 1 tbsp butter, soft
  • 1 m.-sized onion(s) or leek
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 470 ml water, boiling

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes

Fry the onion until golden brown. Meanwhile, finely grate the potato. Rinse the millet thoroughly to remove the bitter taste. In an oven-safe pot or pan, mix all of the raw ingredients together thoroughly. DO NOT cook the egg, potato, and millet beforehand. Add the onion. Pour boiling water over everything and cover with a lid. Simmer the millet in an oven preheated to 180°C (top/bottom heat) for 40 minutes. Reduce the heat to 140°C (284°F) for the last 10 minutes. Serve with a fresh salad.
