Turkey – pepper – schnitzel

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 4 turkey schnitzels
  • 30 g butter or oil for frying
  • 2 onions
  • ½ tbsp flour
  • 250 g bell pepper(s), fresh or frozen
  • 1 tsp sweet paprika powder
  • 1 tsp paprika powder, hot
  • 1 package of cream, or sour cream, or milk
  • broth
  • salt and pepper
  • lemon juice
  • Sugar

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Lightly pound the schnitzel, season with paprika, salt, and pepper, and fry in butter or oil until golden brown on both sides (cooking time: about 6 minutes). Then place the schnitzel in the hot pan. Sauté the onions in the same fat until translucent, dust with flour, add the paprika, pour in the broth and cream, stir, and bring to a boil briefly. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, sugar, and lemon juice. Serve the sauce with the schnitzel. Do not let it boil in the sauce, as this will make it tough. Mashed potatoes or spaetzle are delicious as a side dish.
