Millefoglie Fragole – Puff pastry towers with strawberries

Spread the love

Ingredients for 8 servings:

  • 250 g mascarpone
  • 500 g cream
  • 3 tbsp, heaped powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp Amaretto
  • 1 lemon(s), zest
  • 1 vanilla pod(s)
  • 500 g strawberries
  • possibly sugar
  • 2 packs of puff pastry
  • powdered sugar for garnishing

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Preheat oven (top/bottom heat 220°C). Roll out the puff pastry on a baking sheet, cut into 12 rectangular pieces, and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. The pieces should have risen slightly. While the cake is baking, whip the cream and add all the remaining ingredients (except the strawberries) and mix well. Cut the strawberries into pieces as desired and add sugar if desired. Once the cake has cooled, alternate layers of puff pastry, cream, and strawberries to create small towers. To ensure everything stays together, level the puff pastry pieces if necessary and spread cream on the bottom of each piece as well. This should make 8 towers, each with three layers of puff pastry. Garnish the top layer again with a little cream and strawberries or with powdered sugar.
