Turmeric rice

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 150 g rice (long grain rice)
  • 1 pinch of turmeric
  • some salt
  • 3 tbsp cashew nuts, roasted and salted

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

with cashews

Peel and finely dice the onion. Heat butter in a saucepan and sauté the onions until translucent. Add the rice and turmeric powder and sauté briefly. Season the rice with salt and add 300 ml of water. Cover and bring to a boil over low heat. Cook for about 20 minutes. Meanwhile, roughly chop the cashews. Drain any remaining liquid from the rice. Stir in the cashews and serve immediately.
