Cucumber salad

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 8 tsp sugar
  • 6 tbsp vinegar
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • salt and pepper
  • n. B. Dill
  • 1 small onion(s)
  • ½ cup cream
  • 3 cucumbers

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Peel the cucumbers, or leave them on if you like the skin. Slice them thinly and sprinkle with salt to drain some of the water. Let them stand for half an hour. Don’t be too sparing with the salt. Finely dice the onion and mix with the sugar, vinegar, oil, and cream. Season with pepper and salt. Be careful with the salt at first, as the cucumbers have already been salted. Add as much dill as you like. Squeeze the cucumbers well with your hands and add them to the dressing. Mix well and season to taste, adding more seasoning if necessary. Let stand for about 15 minutes to allow the salad to marinate a little more. Delicious with meatballs, fried potatoes, chops, meatloaf, mashed potatoes, or grilled meat.
