  • 800 g melon(s) (watermelon)
  • 200 g cucumber(s)
  • 150 g cooked ham
  • 150 g cheese, spicy (e.g. Emmental or mountain cheese)
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp, heaped horseradish
  • 1 tsp, heaped mustard, hot
  • Salt and pepper, white
  • n. B. herbs, fresh (e.g. parsley)

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

ideal as a light, refreshing side dish for a barbecue

Roughly chop the watermelon, removing the seeds. Peel and finely dice the cucumber. Finely dice the cheese and ham. Mix the sour cream with horseradish and mustard (and herbs, if desired) and season generously with salt and pepper. The melon and cucumber will release so much juice later that the salad will become much milder on its own. Mix all ingredients and serve. Tip: If you’re taking the salad to a party, bring the ingredients along in advance and mix them on site.
