Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 400 g carrot(s), diced
- 1 small onion(s), diced
- 1 garlic clove(s), chopped
- 1 piece(s) ginger root, approx. thumb-sized, finely chopped
- 2 cm turmeric root, chopped or 0.5 tsp turmeric powder
- 4 soft dates, roughly chopped
- 1 chili pepper(s), dried, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- e.g. orange juice
- ½ tsp cumin
- Broth, granulated
- salt and pepper

Sauté the onions, carrots, and garlic together. Stir in the tomato paste. Season with salt and add enough orange juice to just cover. Then add the ginger, turmeric, and the other spices. Cook until tender, adding more orange juice if desired. Puree everything and season to taste.
