our Christmas dinner
Make a marinade from ketchup, tomato paste, honey, curry, bay leaf, cinnamon, crushed juniper berries, and a little oil and let it sit for half a day. Rinse the Swedish morsels with water, pat dry, and add them to the marinade. Let it sit overnight. About an hour before eating, spread a thin layer of butter on the bread and top with the marinated fork bites, about 5-6 pieces per slice. Completely cover the bread slice with the smoked salmon. Slice the eggs crosswise and arrange them on the smoked salmon. Thinly slice the onions and arrange them on top of the eggs. Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise on top. Garnish with lengthwise sliced gherkins and sprinkle with paprika.
