Ham in Riesling

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 250 g cooked ham or smoked meat, in not too thin slices
  • 200 ml white wine (Riesling, dry)
  • 100 ml wine vinegar or light balsamic vinegar
  • 100 ml water
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 tsp juniper berries
  • 1 tsp peppercorns, pink
  • ½ tsp black peppercorns
  • 1 onion(s), cut into fine rings

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest period approx. 1 day; Total time approx. 1 day 10 minutes

Mix all the ingredients for the marinade and add the ham slices. Marinate for at least 24 hours. Delicious with hearty farmhouse bread or fried potatoes.
