Ingredients for 8 servings:

  • 8 m.-sized eggs
  • ¾ liter red wine, dry
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 red chili pepper(s)
  • 1 ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp thyme, dried
  • 1 tsp rosemary, dried

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 12 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 12 hours 30 minutes

Hard-boil the eggs. Meanwhile, bring the red wine and the remaining ingredients to a boil, remove from the heat, and let the liquid cool. Remove the eggs from the pan and let them cool. Once the eggs have cooled, crack open the shells, place them in a bowl, and pour the cooled red wine liquid over them. Let the eggs marinate in the red wine liquid for 12 hours. Peel the eggs before serving. Garlic mayonnaise goes well with the dish.
