Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 500 g spaetzle
- 150 g bacon
- 500 g mushrooms
- 200 g processed cheese
- 200 g whipped cream
- 1 onion(s)
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- salt and pepper
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes
First, dice the onion and bacon and add them to the pan, where they are sautéed over medium heat until the onion cubes turn golden brown. Meanwhile, slice the mushrooms, add them and sauté briefly. Then add 1 cup of water, the heavy cream, and the processed cheese. While the cheese is melting, stir the sauce. Once the cheese is melted, let the sauce simmer at low heat for 15 minutes. In the meantime, cook the spaetzle in a saucepan half-filled with water. Tip: If you like, add a tablespoon of salt to the boiling water for the spaetzle. After 15 minutes, add 1 teaspoon of lemon juice to the sauce, and season to taste with salt and pepper. Once the spaetzle are cooked, remove them from the pan and serve with the sauce.
