Marinated strawberries with crème fraîche and basil – lime sugar

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 limes, untreated
  • 2 stalks of basil
  • 50 g white rock sugar
  • 600 g strawberries, ripe
  • 3 tbsp Grand Marnier
  • 150 g crème fraîche

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Wash the limes in hot water and pat dry. Grate the zest into a blender. Rinse the basil and shake dry. Pick off the leaves and add them to the blender along with the lime zest and sugar. Blend everything thoroughly. Wash and hull the strawberries, then halve or quarter them, depending on their size. Marinate with Grand Marnier and arrange on plates. Spread the crème fraîche on top and sprinkle with the basil and lime sugar. Serve.
