Potato Cake with Chive Dip and Side Salad
The perfect potato cake with chive dip and side salad recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
Dough:
- 250 g Flour type 550
- 125 g Butter
- 1 Egg size L.
- 0,5 tsp Salt
- 1 pinch Nutmeg
Filling:
- 250 g Floury potatoes
- 110 g Gouda cheese
- 125 g Bacon cubes
- 2 Eggs size L.
- 125 Milk
- 2 Tbsp easy. Chives rolls
- Pepper salt
Chive Dip:
- 100 g Quark
- 100 g Yogurt 3.5%
- 100 g Sour cream
- 30 g Mayonnaise
- Pepper salt
- 2 tbsp go. Chives rolls
Dough:
- Knead the flour, butter, egg, salt, nutmeg and 2 tablespoons of cold water quickly to form a smooth dough, wrap it in foil and cool for 30 minutes.
Filling:
- Cook the potatoes with their skin on, let them cool down, peel them and put them through the potato press. Leftovers from the previous day can also be used. Finely grate the cheese and mix 50 g with the potatoes. Whisk the eggs with the milk, season with pepper and salt and stir in the chives.
Completion:
- Line the bottom of the pan with baking paper and grease the edge. Roll out the dough between 2 layers of parchment paper with a diameter of 28 cm. Peel off the top paper and use the paper underneath to place the sheet of dough over the mold with the dough side facing down. Peel off the paper that is now on top and carefully press the dough into the mold. It must be pressed to the upper edge of the mold.
- Now preheat the oven to 180 ° O / bottom heat. In the mold lined with the dough, first fill the potato and cheese mixture, spread the bacon cubes on top and sprinkle with 20 g of grated cheese. Pour the lightly whisked egg mixture over everything and place the dish on the 2nd rail from below in the oven. The baking time is 45 minutes. 10 minutes before the baking time is up, pull the mold out of the oven briefly, sprinkle the remaining 40 g of cheese over it and finish baking the cake.
- If you prefer a flatter cake, you can use a size 20, or at most a size 22 form. The rolled out sheet of dough should then be 30 or 32 cm.
Dip:
- Mix all ingredients and season to taste.
- This cake is easy to prepare and can be baked again shortly before serving. It can be served as a main course or as a starter. A mixed leaf salad with a fruity dressing is perfect as a refreshment.
