Mug cake

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 egg(s)
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 pinch of baking powder
  • 1 tbsp baking cocoa

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 3 minutes; Total time approx. 8 minutes

Simple and quick, preparation in the microwave

Mix the ingredients directly in the mug. First, combine the oil with the sugar and egg. Please do not use olive oil because of its strong flavor. Then add the flour, baking powder and cocoa powder. Mix the ingredients well and then stir in the milk until a smooth and viscous batter forms. Then place the mug in the microwave for two to three minutes at 800 watts. The baking time can vary depending on the microwave used and the size of the mug. It’s best to start with a shorter baking time to achieve the ideal baking result. You can use a wooden skewer to test if the mug cake is done, just like with a traditional cake. If batter sticks to the wooden skewer, the mug cake needs a few seconds longer in the microwave. If the batter is firm or rubbery, the baking time was too long. The little cakes will also turn out well in the oven, but they will take longer, about 20 minutes. The advantage of the microwave is that it doesn’t need to be preheated and is therefore more energy-efficient than an oven.
