Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • ½ cube of yeast, or 1 packet of dry yeast
  • 300 g flour
  • 60 g sugar
  • 125 ml milk
  • ½ tbsp butter
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 8 plums
  • 8 sugar cubes

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 45 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

Mix the yeast and flour in a bowl. Add the sugar, lukewarm milk, butter, salt, and egg. Knead with a hand mixer on high for about 6 minutes. Let the dough rise for 45 minutes at 50°C. Divide the dough into 8 pieces. Place a sugar cube in each pitted plum and form it into a dumpling with the dough. Cook the dumplings in salted water for about 10-15 minutes. The dumplings are traditionally served with melted butter, cinnamon, and sugar. However, they can also be served with vanilla sauce. Tip: If the plums aren’t too big, the dough will make enough for up to 12 dumplings.
