Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 3 kg apples
  • 375 g sugar
  • 1 ½ liters of water
  • 1 dashes lemon juice to taste
  • 3 pinches of salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour; Rest time approx. 40 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 50 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours 30 minutes

For 6 glasses with 1 liter capacity each

Wash, peel, and core the apples, then dice or slice them as desired. Place the apples in lightly salted, cold water. Add the lemon juice. Once all the apples have been used, transfer them to preserving jars. Bring the sugar and water to a boil over high heat until the sugar has completely dissolved. Season to taste with lemon juice. Pour the still-warm sugar solution over the apples. Half-fill the oven tray with water and place the jars in it. Place the tray on the lowest rack of the oven at 180°C on the preserving setting and cook for about 40 minutes. When bubbles appear, turn off the oven and leave unopened for another 40 minutes. Remove the jars from the oven and allow to cool.
