Almond cherries in Amaretto

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 80 sour cherries, from the jar (approx. 2 jars)
  • 80 almonds, peeled
  • 500 ml Amaretto

Instructions

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Rest period approx. 2 days; Total time approx. 2 days 45 minutes

for two preserving jars of about 1/2 liter each

Rinse the tightly sealed jars with boiling water, turn them upside down, and let the water drain out. Drain the cherries thoroughly, reserving the juice. Place an almond in each cherry. Layer the cherries in the jars and pour over the Amaretto. If necessary, add enough cherry juice to cover all the cherries. Seal the jar and store in a cool, dark place for 1-2 days to infuse. The cherries will keep for about 6 months.
