Ingredients for 8 servings:

  • 4 slice(s) Bacon, small diced
  • 1 carrot(s), finely diced
  • 1 stalk(s) Celery, finely diced
  • 1 large onion(s), finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 3 tsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 250 g mushrooms, sliced
  • 330 g minced beef, lean
  • 330 g minced pork, lean
  • 1 bottle of beer, dark
  • 240 ml beef broth
  • 120 ml cream
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 780 g tomato puree
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • ¼ tsp chili flakes

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Fry the bacon in a pan. Drain on paper towels. Add the carrot, celery, and onion to the pan and cook for about 5 minutes, until browned. Add the garlic and sauté for another 2 minutes. Transfer to the crock pot. Add a teaspoon of oil to the still-hot frying pan and brown the mushrooms, stirring constantly. Add to the vegetables. Heat the remaining oil and brown the two types of ground meat. Also add to the slow cooker. Add the beer and the remaining ingredients, cover, and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours. Serve with pasta of your choice.
