Minced meat sauce with diced peppers

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g minced meat, mixed
  • 1 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 1 bell pepper(s), red
  • 1 bell pepper(s), green
  • 1 bell pepper(s), yellow
  • 150 g mushrooms, fresh (or from a can)
  • 300 ml water (a little more if needed)
  • salt and pepper
  • Paprika powder
  • Soy sauce
  • Broth powder
  • possibly sauce thickener

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

First, peel the onion and dice it into small cubes. Clean and dice the bell peppers. Clean and thinly slice the mushrooms. Brown the minced meat with the onions. Then add about 2 tablespoons of soy sauce and season with salt and pepper. Add the diced bell peppers and sauté for a while longer, so the peppers still have some bite. Add the mushrooms and sauté briefly again. Pour in water and season with the spices and clear broth. Bring to a boil briefly, adding a sauce thickener if desired. I usually thicken the sauces with a little flour, which I whisk with cold water until smooth and then stir in once the sauce is simmering. The sauce goes well with pasta and rice.
