Ingredients for 2 servings:
- 160 g basmati rice
- Salt
- 1 tsp, leveled turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp sugar
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes
Place the rice in a sieve and rinse under cold water until the water runs clear. Melt the butter in a shallow pan, add the rice, and fry. Pour in salted water (a ratio of 1 to 2). Finally, add the turmeric and sugar. Bring to a boil briefly, cover, and simmer over low heat for about 15 minutes. Turmeric rice can be combined with anything, just like regular rice.
