Ingredients for 8 servings:

  • 500g basmati
  • Clarified butter
  • 1 onion(s), diced
  • 1 clove(s) garlic, finely chopped
  • 10 cloves, whole
  • 1 piece(s) cinnamon (approx. 8 cm)
  • 10 cardamom, whole
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 100 g raisins
  • 50 g almond(s), peeled
  • 1 liter of water

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Heat clarified butter and sauté the onions and garlic. Then add the spices, and after another minute, add the rice and sauté briefly. Add water and salt and cook for 10-15 minutes, or according to the package instructions. Stir in the raisins and almonds at the end of the cooking time. This dish goes well with any Indian meat or vegetable dish and is especially popular with children.
