vegetarian, makes about 1.5 liters of sauce

Chop the plums, apples, garlic, and ginger into small pieces and bring to a boil in a saucepan with the white wine, raisins, and sugar. Simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Then puree with a hand blender until you have a smooth sauce. Add all the spices and simmer for another 10 minutes. Finally, taste and adjust the seasoning to taste. Pour the sauce into prepared jars or bottles. This recipe makes about 1.5 liters of sauce. The barbecue sauce will keep for several weeks in the refrigerator and is ideal with grilled meat. Tip: If you don’t like raisins, you can substitute them with cranberries.
