Germ dumplings from the Thermomix

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 40 g poppy seeds
  • 30 g sugar
  • 270 g flour
  • 100 g milk
  • ½ cube of yeast
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 130 g butter
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 40 g plum jam
  • 500 g water

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

Place the poppy seeds and 20g of sugar in the mixing bowl, chop for 30 seconds/speed 10 and set aside in a small bowl. Rinse the mixing bowl briefly. Put 50g of flour, milk and yeast in the mixing bowl and mix for 1 minute/37°C/speed 3. Add 220g of flour, egg, 30g butter, 10g sugar and salt and mix for 1 1/2 minutes/speed 1. Knead the dough into a ball. Remove the dough from the mixing bowl, divide into 4 portions and flatten like small pancakes. Place the plum jam on top, press together again and form into dumplings. Place the dumplings in the greased Varoma and leave in a warm place for 30 minutes. Add water to the mixing bowl, close the lid, put the Varoma on top and cook for 20 minutes/Varoma/speed 1. When the cooking time is over, set the Varoma aside and empty the mixing bowl. Add 100g butter to the mixing bowl and melt for 1.5 minutes at 80°C/speed 1. Sprinkle the yeast dumplings with the poppy seed and sugar mixture and pour in the melted butter.
