Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1,000 g tomatoes
  • 2 large onions
  • 1 large apple
  • 30 g brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp salt, uniodized
  • 1 tsp curry
  • 100 ml apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp mustard, medium hot
  • chili
  • pepper
  • herbs, Italian
  • 1 carnation(s)

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

makes 1.2 l of sauce

Chop the onions and apple and place them in a saucepan with the tomatoes. Add the remaining ingredients and cook for 20 minutes, until the apple is soft. Remove the clove, purée the sauce, and then strain it. This will create the usual ketchup consistency. Pour the hot sauce into clean glass jars and seal them. Turn the jars upside down until the sauce has cooled.
