Ribs in maple syrup

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg ribs, thick
  • 125 g leek
  • 1 carrot(s)
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 4 tbsp syrup (maple syrup)
  • 1 tbsp margarine or butter
  • 1 tsp curry
  • ½ liter vegetable broth (instant)
  • pepper
  • Salt
  • 40 g flour
  • 4 tbsp cream

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Cut the ribs into pieces and rub them well with salt, pepper, and curry powder. Brush with about 4 tablespoons of maple syrup. Brown them vigorously in fat, then deglaze with the broth. Add the chopped vegetables and braise for about 60 to 75 minutes. Then remove the meat and keep warm. Strain the sauce through a sieve; whisk the flour with 4 tablespoons each of water and cream to thicken the sauce. Season to taste with pepper, salt, curry powder, and maple syrup. Serve with boiled potatoes and Brussels sprouts.
