Christmas apple tart

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 200 g flour
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 100 g sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 150 g butter
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 2 tbsp sour cream
  • 8 large apples (Boskoop)
  • 3 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 jar apricot jam
  • Fat for the mold

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes

Quickly knead the flour, cornstarch, sugar, salt, egg yolk, and sour cream with a dough hook until crumbly. Then, using your hands, quickly shape it into a ball, wrap it in aluminum foil, and refrigerate for about 30 minutes. In the meantime, peel the apples thinly and slice them thinly from both sides towards the core. Cut the remaining apple into small pieces. Cut out stars from the apple slices, preferably in two or three different sizes (this will look better on the tart later!). Then roll out the dough between two layers of plastic wrap and line a greased tart pan (26-28 cm diameter). Press the edges up slightly. First, spread the apple pieces as evenly as possible. Then cover these with the stars of different sizes. Sift the icing sugar over the dough. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C on the middle rack for 20 minutes. During baking, warm the apricot jam and strain it through a sieve. After 20 minutes of baking, remove the cake and spread a thick layer of jam (carefully so the apple stars don’t break). Return the cake to the oven and bake for another 10 minutes.
